I was gifted a GR-C7E for my video and camera collection – pretty amazing condition, in case with accessories… Doc and Marty in Back to the Future used the GR-C1 and that model is apparently pretty well sought after.
The C7E was released in 1985/86 with the C7E being from the year before (1984… of course!).
Popular TV programme Stranger Things also used a JVC camera from this era, in this case the GR-45E. The 45E was released the year after in 1987.
The C7E was apparently very first VHS-C camcorder to use a CCD image sensor (Reference, fandom.com), and also had the ability to record to tape from an external source: a first for a consumer camcorder.
This model doesn’t seem to be as sought after by TV and Movie buffs, still, it will make a good prop or display piece.
