Whilst on holiday in the South Island, we came across this 50s Valve Radio, which was a good price and very tidy. Non-original knobs, but it all appeared to be there and was working. Research showed it was made in Otahuhu by DRECO (Dominion Radio and Electrical Corporation Ltd). This La Gloria Imp was the first model in a line of 18 budget models up to the late 60s. It used a 5 Valve setup and similar mantel case design in plastic as previously imported US models. A bit more of a tidy-up needed but is a good display piece.
